Kitten with a whip: Lavigne and friend on the Body English dance floor.

Kobe's Hot Date
Seems like all is forgiven between Kobe Bryant and wife Vanessa. At least, that's what they're telling the cameras.
The scandal-plagued couple was pretty much all over each other during the World Music Awards after-party at Body English, the hot new Brent Bolthouse club inside the Vegas Hard Rock.
As the two canoodled by sitting on each other's laps, Avril Lavigne hit the dance floor with a racy brunette girl bearing a bullwhip. Lavigne also cuddled for plenty of pictures with new buddy Courtney Love, who's bound to be a fabulously wholesome influence on the 20 year old.
Newly slim Anna Nicole Smith made out with the cameras as much as she possibly could, natch, while newly minted lovebirds Seal and Heidi Klum humored the paparazzi by locking lips over and over.
The only person who seemed to go without any smoochy smoochy was Usher, who's rumored to be dating supermodel Naomi Campbell. But she was nowhere in sight.
Gay Is the New Straight
Or so it goes in show biz.
Big stars like Jake Gyllenhaal are playing gay characters in major upcoming movies. Cynthia Nixon, co-star of Sex and the City, one of the most popular cable comedies ever, seems quite proud of her new girlfriend. And celebrities major and not-so-major are boosting the grand openings of gay clubs.
 | Playing for the other team: Gyllenhaal has a thing for Heath Ledger in his upcoming Brokeback Mountain.
|
|
To wit: One Scott Baio, who's preparing for a 30th-anniversary reunion of Happy Days. (All right. A Gyllenhaal he isn't, but the man is 43 and still working in big projects. He's got a werewolf picture coming out later this year, co-starring hotties Christina Ricci and Shannon Elizabeth. So there..)
Anyway. Baio just helped ring in the opening night of Krave, billed as Vegas' first-ever gay club. Also in full force: James Getzlaff, star of Bravo's Boy Meets Boy. The Aladdin Hotel-based Krave was the brainchild of West L.A. club legend Sia Amiri, late of RAGE, the legendary left coast gay bar, who has hired promotion genius Jeffrey Sanker to run the entertainment. My prediction: Baio won't be the biggest star walking through the doors in coming weeks.
Oh ... I should mention: Also on hand during the grand opening: the Fashionistas, stars of the newest, weirdest musical on the Strip. The show is based on, yes, a classic four-hour adult video, but the show is more PG than the topless shows elsewhere in Vegas.
"The Fashionistas did two 10-minute sets, and everyone had a great time," a insider tells me.
Happy Birthday, Dear Georgie...
So Palms wunderkind George Maloof is, allegedly, 40 years old now, which probably means he's 54. At any rate, the kid had quite the birthday party in the Real World Suite at his Palms Casino. No birthday cake, no singing of the birthday song, just planeload after planeload of celebrities.
All kinds of stars showed up for the bash: Michael Vartan, Lance Bass, Girls Gone Wild bete noir Joe Francis, Shannon Elizabeth, Gabrielle Union--flown in, like they always are, by free private jet.
